FASTER Laboratory

 The FASTER lab is a state-of-the-art core capability developed to perform structural testing integrity of fuselage panels under realistic flight load conditions in order to study areas of safety and structural integrity. It is a national resource for research and development activities to assess the design, certification and continued airworthiness of airframe structures used in current and future generation airplanes. The FASTER Lab is being used to effectively leverage resources through partnerships with other government agencies, industry, and academia to provide critical data needed by both industry and the FAA to assess continued airworthiness of existing structures and to evaluate new technologies being introduced into commercial applications. Diakon Solutions provides comprehensive test support and utilizes resultant data to calibrate, verify and validate methodologies used for fatigue and damage tolerance assessments.
